There’s nothing scarier than not wearing your face mask during a pandemic -- just ask Jason Voorhees.

The serial killer from the classic horror film “Friday the 13th” stars in a new PSA to encourage people to wear their masks.

“It’s not easy. The mask kind of makes people uncomfortable,” Voorhees explains at the beginning of the ad.

“I’m just trying to fit in,” he reveals as he makes his way around New York City scaring off everyone he comes into contact with.

He acknowledges that “the whole chainsaw thing” isn’t working in his favor, but he assures that “behind the mask,” he’s just a regular guy.

However, the hockey mask the villain wears isn’t enough to protect him from COVID-19.

Thankfully, a little girl sees he’s in need of a proper medical-mask and hands him one.

The Ogilvy Health ad capitalizes on Voorhees' killer tendencies by stating, “Wearing a mask can be scary. Not wearing one can be deadly.”

“Wearing a mask has proven to be an easy and important way to stem the spread of the #coronavirus, yet many New Yorkers still aren't doing it. This is especially true of younger people who may feel invincible to #Covid19,” the caption on the video reads.

It continues, “How can we get them to pay attention to this life-saving message? Tap into pop culture and entertain them. Don't preach. Don't fear-monger. Do the opposite. Make them smile, engage and share with their peers.”

The campaign aims to promote mask-wearing among New Yorkers to curb the spread of the pandemic.

Coronavirus has infected more than 10 million people around the world with the U.S. seeing a huge spike in cases particularly among younger people, who are now accounting for the most cases.

One of the biggest rises was seen in Florida, which experts warn could be the next epicenter for the virus. In fact, only Connecticut and Rhode Island are reporting a decline in cases.

Studies found that lockdowns combined with social distancing and universal use of face masks may prevent another outbreak.

Jason Voorhees isn't the only character to stress the importance of wearing a face mask while out in public; Patrick Dempsey recently revived his "Grey's Anatomy" heartthrob Dr. Derek Shepherd to get the message across, while Tom Hanks scolded those who refused to put on a face covering.
